ComiCentric Issue 51: 4…. 3… Here comes 52!!!
Before I start with this week’s blurb, I want to thank everyone that showed up to nostalgic comics to celebrate the one-year anniversary of ComiCentric podcast. And give it up one more time to THE PIZZA STAINS!! for making it a magical night!! While I work furiously to get that to sound good for next week. Please enjoy more of our normal shenanigans for one more week, till I get that issue in the can.
This week though its classic format. Pete and I take on the nefarious issue with comic issues that are in constant flux. Not because the characters need them. But because writers just want to tell their stories without the consequences of the previous authors. who some take years to develop characters and story lines only to be RET-CON by the next guy who thinks he’s got the million-dollar idea. Now sometimes it’s a good idea and other times, well…
We also get into some retconning of our own with our total dissatisfaction with the Fantastic Four movies. Except Michael Chiklis, he’s like the perfect casting for The Thing. NOT Ben Grimm. Just The Thing. We take a moment to make with the friends with the idea that there will never be a perfect FF movie. Though we know that ben grim is a one of those marvel tragic characters that will never be happy. We would like to see a ben grim that is comfortable in his own skin. That is ok being orange and made of rock. Because of what he stands for. Being who he is the freaking ever-loving blue-eyed Thing.
Also, we check in on Jeremy Renner, after his heroic endeavor. And are happy he didn’t lose a leg. We contemplate being weekly reviewers of renner-vations. the latest in the let’s build something for less fortunate series.
So, join us on this last episode of the year. before we start season 2 electric boogaloo!!
