ComiCentric Issue 46: M.O.D.O.K Mo Problems (In three parts)
AND NOW A STORY: Ever since I started this, I really haven’t had many issues with the recording portion of the podcast. But as all things in life, this is a mere variable. A percentage of something that might happen is still a chance that hasn’t happened yet. Well, this episode is brought to you in 3 parts. And is a lesson in how all things that can go wrong will.
Started off simple. Watch a movie report on sed movie. Easy right? Sure. Sit down press record and let technology take over. Well technology decided to fuck me. first recoding take only took down less than 20 mins. It was a bit of time before we noticed. Ok. No problem. Listen to the last 5 mins and start again.
We are on our way, take two. With an eye constant on the table and another one trying to keep tabs on everything else. We got through it, we finished. We hit our marks and we bow and exit with grace. Next portion is upload and edit part. Not two happy since its in two parts. But oh well.
I get past part one and as I’m editing part two, I come towards the best part of the recoding. The last 20 mins we had the best laughs and banter. But as I come to the beginning of the last segment. Nothing. No noise. No sound.
Nothing. No noise. No sound.
What the heck? Can’t be. I higher the volume. I check the original copy of the recoding. Same, no sound. No noise. Nothing.
Shit.
Well at this point I think of releasing it and adding apologies for my incompetence. I must go with the follow it can’t be helped. But as we flow through this universe. Sometimes we let that flow take us to far out. The universe sometimes tests us. And sometimes we get two options, get frustrated or let it go.
Turns out I had another option try to recapture the magic. As I was already going to The Shop and the recording equipment was already there. Easy turning it around. Making it happen. Smooth sailing ahead, right?
Wrong. First take of part 3 recoded 15 seconds … 15!!! SECONDS!! We talked for like 20 mins. I had not changed a certain setting on the recording application. Off to a good start.
Take two we set it all carefully, we make sure we get past that 15 second threshold and we are off. Not as good as the first time. Heck, not as good as the second time. But… 3rd times the charm. So, what’s the podcast about? You still must listen to find out.
